Every year a local homeschooling family in the area offers free hayrides on their farm. This was our second year to go, and it is always fun! Here are a few pictures I took before and during the hayride.

So cute!
I feel like I should already know the answer to this, but do you homeschool your kids?
Yes, we do. It’s kind of funny because it seems like a lot of large families do ( Oh, weird….we’re a large family now).
Stick and I have been talking a lot about homeschooling possible future kids (aaack I am SO not responsible enough to be a mommy yet). I’m really down on public schools right now, becoming more so every day that I go to work and teach GED, essentially the people who’ve fallen through the cracks of public ed. Many bright kids are failed by huge classes and busy teachers who hold them back to mediocrity. But so many homeschooled kids grow up in a bubble of like-minded people, and don’t know how to interact with anyone different.
Ok this is about the longest comment ever!
I guess where I’m going is why did you decide to homeschool? and how do you integrate the kids’ socialization into home schooling?
Well, that is a long question with quite a long answer. It is also one that will take a bit of preparation on my part. Is it okay if I put it in a blog post some time this week after I pull all my thoughts together and write a “paper” on it? I might even make it into a series of posts!
I am very glad you asked because I have been wanting to post on home schooling for quite a while. I am also trying to post daily this month, so you just gave me plenty of ideas for posts!
Thanks so much for your input and questions on my blog!
YAY! A long blogpost answer would be awesome!
I’ve never been on a hay ride. Looks like great fun!
